Seriously considering one of those modern comfy beds, is it actually comfortable or just a gimmick?

My husband and I are looking to upgrade our master bedroom sooner or later, and for quite some times, he’s been obsessed with the idea of getting one of those beds with built in TV consoles in the footboard. On one hand, I love the idea of a completely clean look where the screen just disappears when we aren't using it. On the other hand, I’m worried that if the lift mechanism breaks, we’re just stuck with a massive, heavy piece of furniture that’s impossible to repair. We’ve looked at a few in local showrooms, but the prices are absolutely expensive . It feels like you’re paying a $2k premium just for a basic motorized bracket. I’m also a bit concerned about the viewing angle since I like to prop myself up with a lot of pillows to read. I was browsing some furniture manufacturing threads on Alibaba earlier and saw some of the wholesale prices for the lift components themselves. It’s wild how much the retail stores markup these ""luxury"" frames.

I’d love to know if the motor stays quiet over time or if it starts sounding like an old garage door after a few months.
