Dry skin, what should I do if makeup doesn't look good?

I have extremely dry skin. I've tried many foundations, but after applying makeup, my skin feels even worse. The complexion is uneven, and fine lines around my eyes are very noticeable. I also struggle with applying makeup well. What should I do?
